Who is responsible for your data

Paula McMeekin, trading as The Knowing Space, based in Spain, is the data controller. You can reach me at paula@theknowingspace.co.uk for anything related to your data.

What data I collect and why

• Booking a session: your name, email address, time zone and anything you write in the booking form. It is used to schedule, hold and follow up on the session. Legal basis: performance of a contract (or steps taken at your request before entering one).
• Free e-book and occasional emails: your email address, used to send you the e-book and, if you opt in, occasional writing about intuition and this work. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time from the unsubscribe link in every email.
• Writing to me directly: the contents of your email and your address, used only to reply. Legal basis: legitimate interest in answering the people who contact me.
• Server logs: the hosting provider records technical data (IP address, browser, requested page) to keep the site running and secure. Legal basis: legitimate interest in the security and availability of the site.

Who else processes your data

I do not sell your data and I do not share it for advertising. I do rely on a small number of service providers that process it on my behalf:

• Cal.com — booking and calendar management. It receives the details you enter when you book.
• Google (Calendar and Gmail) — the calendar where sessions are recorded and the email account used to contact you.
• The hosting provider that serves this website.
• Umami — cookieless visit statistics, on a server in the European Union. It does not store your IP address: it is only used, in transit, to derive an anonymous figure that is discarded every day.
• Google Fonts — the typefaces are served from Google servers, which means your IP address reaches Google when the page loads.
• An email marketing provider, once the e-book sign-up is enabled. This policy will name it before any address is collected.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, the transfer is covered by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or an equivalent safeguard.

How long I keep it

• Booking and session data: for as long as we work together and up to five years afterwards, to comply with legal and accounting obligations.
• Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
• Emails: up to two years after our last exchange.

Your rights

You can ask for access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to a given use. Write to paula@theknowingspace.co.uk and I will reply within a month. If you are not satisfied with my answer, you can complain to your national data protection authority — in Spain, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es); in the UK, the ICO (ico.org.uk).

Children

Sessions with children and teenagers are booked and paid for by a parent or guardian, who provides consent for the processing of the young person’s data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date at the top of the page changes and, where the change is significant, subscribers are notified by email.
